RE-ENERGIZING THE PRIDE | RENOVATING THE PLANS | REBUILDING THE POSSIBILITIES | REPURPOSING FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE
The Flint Center for Educational Excellence is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education and the learning environments for all Flint kids. We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in collaboration with the Brownell-Holmes Neighborhood Association to transform the Brownell-Holmes School campus. The FCS Board of Education has approved a groundbreaking $40 million commitment, including a generous $14 million grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. This initiative aims to turn Brownell-Holmes into a state-of-the-art hub for education, community engagement, and holistic development.

This project aligns with our vision to create a vibrant center for scholar, family, and community-centered activities, addressing the critical need for increased access to essential services for Flint residents, particularly those in North Flint.
By revitalizing the Brownell-Holmes campus, we aim to make our facility and the services offered more attractive to scholars and parents. This effort is expected to boost enrollment as we strive to create an environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and community connection.
The Cube and Façade Improvements
Situated within the Brownell-Holmes neighborhood, our North Flint Campus is a vital part of the community, supported by a strong neighborhood association and shared pride. Despite challenges, residents have continually invested in our neighborhood and schools to ensure ongoing growth. The development of "The Cube" symbolizes our commitment to community connectivity, providing a flexible space to meet the evolving needs of residents.
