Facilitating Kindergarten Transitions: Bridging Ceremonies and Buddy Visits

The Flint Early Childhood Collaborative is celebrating an exciting milestone at Educare Flint! On June 21 the annual bridging ceremonies were held, marking a significant transition for our young learners. "Bridging" signifies the journey as children move from preschool to kindergarten. It's a momentous occasion, symbolizing growth, progress, and new beginnings. Multiple ceremonies will be held throughout the day, ensuring every child receives the recognition they deserve as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. We can't wait to celebrate this special day with our Educare Flint community!

Additionally, as part of our Ready Set Succeed approach to kindergarten transitions, our bridging Educare Flint students recently participated in Buddy Visits to Doyle Ryder and Durant-Tuuri-Mott elementary schools. This initiative helps ease the transition to kindergarten, making it a fun and informative experience for our young learners. During these visits, our young scholars spend the morning at an elementary school, visiting a kindergarten classroom, engaging in activities with current students, and taking a guided tour of the school. They explore key areas such as the library, gym, cafeteria, and art and music rooms, providing them with a comprehensive introduction to their future learning environment.
